Join us at the SDSU Downtown Gallery for a presentation featuring thoughts on how architecture, public space, territoriality, and homelessness are molding the contemporary face of our city. This talk will consider whether our traditional vision of ‘home’ is compatible with the new inner-urban phenomena of sidewalk settlements, transitionary shelters, ‘nimby’ neighborhoods, glittering towers for the wealthy, and a city government torn between policies of regulation or laissez faire.

Speakers:
Matthew Higgins, School of Art & Design, SDSU
Dr. Megan Welsh, School of Public Affairs, SDSU
Dr. Mounah Abdel-Samad, School of Public Affairs, SDSU

Free and open to the public.
